What is the best type of online store to make?Filed Under: Other - Careers & Employment
This really isn’t a -work at home- question, but my husband teaches preschool and he gets checks in the summer but he gets pretty bored and would like some extra income. We are considering making an Online store/selling things on Ebay for more of a hobby/extra cash.
Anyone have any ideas on what’s fun and not hurting your bank account to start doing/selling? Any candle-selling companies, make-up, anything else out there that is enjoyable, yet profitable?

I think like antiques, because when people see them online , they look much more temtping than at the store… and plus people love to get packages at home!!!

Card making – you put in about 40p of material, and sell for £1.50.
Seeing as it’s christmas coming soon, it would be a great time to start. However, it is time consuming but I know myself it is an enjoyable experience.
Also, find out the latest craze among kids. Buy them low, sell them high!
Sell unwanted gifts too, especially as I said before xmas is soon!

I make jewellery out of bits and bobs, bottle caps, buttons, mobile phone charms, plectrums, and sometimes I modify clothing with stamps and stencils, or modify mens clothing, like heavy metal T-Shirts into cute girls tops. I’ve not got any up at the moment, but take a look at what’s there, it’s arty and fun, slightly girly for your husband though.
But definately be creative, otherwise its just a tedious business.
