I really need an answer on this question so please help me.
I have been making jewelry for a very long time and I have sold it to markets or things like that. But now I want to sell it through the internet. I have never bought things online or sell so I need some explanation what to do and where to do it. I also want a honest opinion if it’s save to do this kind of business.
I would really appreciate if you answer on a simple level since i am not very informed in this area.
thank you so much

I’ve been making jewelry for a long time. Currently I sell it to friends and family, but have been told many times that I should give online a shot. I have experience designing web pages and would have a lot of fun doing something like that. I just don’t know the business side of it, like how to receive payments, do I need a license, and things like that. Also, I have thought about ebay but I’m not sure that it would be a good idea. I put a lot of money and time into my jewelry, and would probably charge more than people would be willing to pay on ebay.
I looked up dreamweaver and it’s really expensive! What other web design software can I use?

I’m trying to make a “top ten” sort of list of the questions small business owners would ask about doing some internet marketing and/or getting a website. Can you help?

I have an auto detailing business in Washington D.C. We’ve been in business for 15 years and I would like to get the word out about our gift certificates for the holiday season. We have a great internet presence and I do advertise the gift certicates online but the only way someone would find out about them is if they typed in auto detailing, washington d.c.,gift certificates. This doesn’t happen often. I need to find a way to hit my target audience. I would really like to get an e-mail list for my surrounding area.

I LOVE bridal and formal gowns. I would love to open an online bridal shop like some of the ones I have seen. And prhaps eventually a brick and mortar store once I have raised enough money. I have a decade of retail sales experience in brick and mortar stores. I have designed many websites for various things. I don’t currently have the capital to open a brick and mortar store, and I don’t know how to become an authorized dealer. If anyone can offer any guidance, that would be great!
Thanks for the links and guidance so far. As for the trying it on part. I did think of that. But I am considering the discount angle. (Gotta have an angle). I’m willing to bet there is a pretty good mark up on these items. Clothing in general has a pretty high mark up.
