I want to help my adult son start an online business. Even though I would be helping, I would basically work for free. It would be his business. The answer to this might seem to be common sense to some, but I was going to help him with buying the wholesale products. I could order online with him, but any telephone work, I would probably do, since he is not the best communicator. Will wholesalers work with me, if I am ordering for him with his address and his account (kind of like a secretary)? What about trade shows? Would they let a helper (mom) in with the business man? Also, if we do decide to become a partnership, would we both have to pay self-employment tax, doubling the amount of self-employment tax that otherwise would be owed if it was just a sole proprietor business? Income for the first year at least would be very low. Once the business gets established, he will probably be able to do much of it himself. Thanks for your guidance!

I would like to know how to go about buying products at wholesale and then selling them online. Any tips/ advice/ thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Maybe online school or something? Im not into the college thing as I dont think its necessary. I just need a good shove in the right direction… thanks!
